Ottawa Wedding Awards

4/23/2014

I almost can't believe this is happening. ALREADY. I am so excited to say that I have been nominated for the Ottawa Wedding Awards. I am amidst my first official year in full time business and I am being nominated for best wedding photographer in Ottawa?! Is this real life?

I was among the top 20 photographers to be nominated, so I get to continue into the official voting round as a contender for this!! Voting starts today and I'd LOVE your help if you feel I am worthy of a vote. I am so blessed with how much support I have received thus far in my hopeful wedding photography career, with family and friend presence, as all as the many other talented photographers I have already worked with. Thank you so much to everyone who has followed my work thus far.

If you're new, thanks for checking out my work!! I would love to chat to you about possibly working together for your wedding photography. Or maybe you just want to try out an engagement session! Throw me an email and we can grab a coffee - nicole@nicoleamanda.ca

Photographers is the first category you see, and it still doesn't seem real to me that Nicole Amanda Photography is listed there. But hey, it is. So give it a click. If you do not know the other vendors, you are allowed to skip categories, fyi. But yeah…you can vote for me here!

I'm not sure if anyone else besides vendors would want to come, but if anyone is interested in having a fun formal attire fancy night out, let me know and we can book a table of 8 and lower the cost of an individual ticket ($100). I'd love to have some company! Just let me know before April 30th to grab early bird pricing!

Thanks again for your time and support along my journey to be a successful full-time wedding photographer. Click on the social media links below to see my most recent work and follow me on my path some more!

The bridal boudoir marathon

4/06/2014

On the 23rd of March, something fell together that I had been hoping to plan for a long time now. I had absolutely done no boudoir work and it's really hard to sell something when you don't have any portfolio work. I wanted to do it on my own and not shadow another photographer because the style that I really wanted to create was very different from most other boudoir photographers.
I had a few ladies that were interested, so I thought I would try to pull something together. Thanks to everyone who helped me, I am so blessed with the results that I received.
After a lot of research, I found that the Brookstreet Hotel had the light and airy vibe I was looking for - bright decor, stunning window light..etc. And then I found Hair Expectations. Wow. Vange and Jessie blew me away with their hair and makeup skills.
I was able to bring it all together for a decent price too (since I didn't want ladies paying too much when I had no experience whatsoever).
Some of my ladies are shy, and some are hiding photos until their wedding as a gift for their man…but I'll show you all that I'm allowed to ;)
Excuse the large amount of photos, I am just so proud of how they turned out and all of my ladies looked stunning. I need to showcase you all!
If you're interested in doing a boudoir or bridal boudoir shoot of your own, I'm SO stoked to do more so shoot me an email! Also, go over and like my Facebook page to see more updates on recent work.

Thanks so much for taking the time to look at them! xoxox

Bridal boudoir marathon

3/03/2014

Photos from Brookstreet Facebook page
So for a while now I've been wanting to plan a boudoir marathon. Since I'm specializing in wedding photography, more specifically a bridal boudoir marathon - but anyone is welcome to come! I've been bouncing ideas for a while now but I think I finally have it secured.

The event will take place on March 23, 2014 - probably at Brookstreet Hotel Kanata (beautiful, right?!). I have Hair Expectations Salon & Spa lined up to do hair and makeup included in the session fee.

I'm a newbie to boudoir photography so jump on this steal of a price before I become a pro ;) Just kidding…kind of. lol

For $175 you will get a 45 minute boudoir session in a stunning hotel room, with the hour prior spent feeling like a princess getting your hair and makeup done.

The time slots aren't for sure yet but as of now they are looking like every hour on the hour from 10am to 4pm, 4pm being the start of the last session. This means I have room for 7 stunning ladies that want some sexy self-confidence.

I also have "little black books" (or any colour you want really) available additionally for gifting or keeping purposes.

Email me to secure your spot or check out the Facebook event page for more info! Also use it to invite your friends and make it a girls day.

Tie The Knot Ottawa

3/02/2014

Swag bags table
One week ago yesterday, I attended (and exhibited) and the best wedding show in existence. For it's inaugural year, Tie The Knot Ottawa blew everyone's minds. Since it's invention, it was designed to be "that different wedding show" meant for more urban in opposite from all of those "luxury" wedding shows.

It was the perfect size because there were enough vendors to choose from, but not too many of each. Other large shows can be compared to speed dating for brides, but with Tie The Knot, brides had a chance to have a small chat with any vendor they wanted.

Even within the same category, each vendor was not even comparable. They did the best job of not only selecting each vendor, but separating us within the room. It was such a different venue location which helped in making the show so unique.

Swag bags given to the first 200 attendees
I met so many awesome bride-to-be's and I am so honoured by the number of consultations I have to meet them again. I can't wait to jump on board and get fully emerged in the 2014 wedding scene.

Thank you so much to my amazing boyfriend who has helped and supported me every step of the way. I couldn't have done it without you. Thanks to everyone who has supported me and liked my work.

For brides that visited me at the show, don't forget about the $200 gift check enclosed in my brochure booklet :) Book your consultation and let me know you have it. Winner of the album to be announced soon!!

If you missed me at the show, check out my website at www.nicoleamanda.ca

My lovely booth with the most wonderful boyfriend ever.
I am already so anxious to get the paperwork to do the show again next year. If it was so great in it's first year, I can't even imagine what they can do in two. They are also pondering branching out to Kingston, Toronto and Montreal. I have complete faith in Earleen and Cheryl to blow my mind again next year. Thanks for making it so easy to book clients. This will be my breakout year, and you guys will play a huge part in it.

Check out what they're up to by visiting their website and giving them a like on Facebook or follow them on Twitter. If you missed the most amazing event ever, you'll be able to catch their next ones!
