I'm not sure there's any other way to say it other than this wedding was absolutely stunning. Every piece of it. Jesse from Hello, I make films in Montreal, emailed me back in June looking for a second shooter for his friend's wedding. I had never been asked to second shoot, which is funny because I actually jumped into solo shooting right away rather than second shooting for a couple of years as most photographers do. I was hesitant but I am so glad I agreed to help him out.
I walked into the hotel room for groomsmen prep to see dapper grey suits, with pink accents, tan leather belts and shoes, cigars and whisky. I knew this was going to be a tasteful wedding. The groom, Brennan, is a photographer himself, so as you can imagine I felt the pressure ;) They were all sweet guys and super down to earth, super easy to just shoot how they were.
We drove off to the Arboretum for the adorable couple's first look, where I met Lisa for the first time (as Jesse shot bridal prep). This blonde bombshell couldn't have been looking any better. Their first look was magical. They are just so in love that their excitement was all over their faces. Everything went off without a hitch and was natural without much direction, exactly how I like it.
Before the ceremony at the Museum of Nature, I went to photograph the reception details. No joke, I walked into the hall and sighed. Jackie, wedding planner from Bluebird Weddings and Sage Designs did the most beautiful job decking the room out in gold and pink elegant perfection. Every little detail. It was the perfect amount of DIY but all of the proper hires to make it an elegant affair.
The ceremony was simple and beautiful in itself simply because, really, the Museum of Nature is such a stunning indoor ceremony location. The architecture of the stairwell of that building is amazing and natural light that comes pouring in from the glass walls of the north west side of the building? Swoon.
