Two Bright Lights | Editors’ Choice Awards 2014

So today I got a really cool email about something I had no idea about! It was from Two Bright Lights, which is the website program I use to submit sessions and weddings for publication. Last year I tried really had to submit everything I photographed, and myself thought I was semi-successful.

Granted, receiving this email, they thought I was successful too! I am thrilled to announce that I have been selected as a winner of a 2014 Two Bright Lights Editors' Choice Award!

I'm honored to be part of this group of talented photographers and creative professionals. My features this past year have enabled me to increase exposure for my work, and I am thrilled to have been recognized for my endeavours.

The award is given in recognition of the those whose number of published features in 2013 placed them among the top 5% of all Two Bright Lights members. Winners were published across many of the most respected lifestyle, wedding and other print and digital publications in the United States and worldwide.

I have high hopes for the next few years in publication, obviously with exclusive blogs being the fancier blogs, such as the famous Style Me Pretty. In 2013, I had the privilege of being published in the following publications:

PASS Photo Sharing (& maybe some Jason Aldean)

So PASS just came out with a gorgeous new update. And for those of you who don't know what PASS is - listen up. Yeah, there are a lot of shoot & share photographers out there now (those who give digital images) but now all of them use PASS.

This is how I host my online galleries that makes downloading your photos as easy as a single click. Unlike email or DropBox, it does not degrade your file, making it the same quality and resolution that I have. This means that you can take it anywhere to get it printed yourself.

But just hold on to your pants, you can order prints through your gallery too. Not just any prints, but I will guarantee you that these will be 200x the quality that you will get from any "amazing printer" you may have at home OR Walmart, Blacks, drugstores…etc. Yeah, they will give you decent looking photos, but they may not capture all of the colours that your digital files have, nor will they come close to the quality.

Looks amazing there too. The best thing of all (which I can't really show you unless you become my client) is the stunning app that they have now developed for it. It's as easy as logging in with the same information and having all of the access to your photos on your phone! But this is how it looks. You can take a look at their promo video for it. Ugh, so in love <3 I can tell you most of the couples that I met at my bridal show were stunned too. Or maybe a much better written article from the PASS developers.

wedding industry experts awards 2014

So today, I was feeling quite gutsy and decided that because this was going to by my year, I may as well enter for an award, no? I have entered into the Most Popular New Photographer category for Ottawa, Canada in the Wedding Industry Experts Awards :) This is a very well-known website to the wedding industry so I want to be someone who can send a clear message to future clients that I am proud of the level of service I deliver for every couple.

Voting starts May 1st, so I may be a bit of a bother making sure ya'll remember to vote for me ;)

Each year the Wedding Industry Experts Awards attract a vast array of world class wedding professionals and related businesses of all sizes, from across the globe. The awards are now the largest international popularity competition for Wedding Professionals worldwide and we are proud to be one of the participants.

My vote page shows my category, location and a description of my service. There is no judging panel. Past clients, peers and fans vote for their favourites. In previous years fans could vote more than once. This year they have limited it to one vote per email address for the duration of the month long voting period.

The voting process is simple….fans can cast one vote per email address at anytime during the voting period. They can log into the new awards system via a simple sign-up form, or with easy via their Twitter, Facebook or LinkedIn accounts. The number of votes will not be shown on the awards site - just the rank from most votes to least (once voting commences).

Like I said, I am convinced this will be my breakout year and I hope I am worthy of The Most Popular New Photographer award for Ottawa. I hope you can make a quick visit to my voting page and spare a minute to cast a vote in my favour. I'll write another quick post as a reminder when the voting period starts :)
