Bridal boudoir marathon

3/03/2014

Photos from Brookstreet Facebook page
So for a while now I've been wanting to plan a boudoir marathon. Since I'm specializing in wedding photography, more specifically a bridal boudoir marathon - but anyone is welcome to come! I've been bouncing ideas for a while now but I think I finally have it secured.

The event will take place on March 23, 2014 - probably at Brookstreet Hotel Kanata (beautiful, right?!). I have Hair Expectations Salon & Spa lined up to do hair and makeup included in the session fee.

I'm a newbie to boudoir photography so jump on this steal of a price before I become a pro ;) Just kidding…kind of. lol

For $175 you will get a 45 minute boudoir session in a stunning hotel room, with the hour prior spent feeling like a princess getting your hair and makeup done.

The time slots aren't for sure yet but as of now they are looking like every hour on the hour from 10am to 4pm, 4pm being the start of the last session. This means I have room for 7 stunning ladies that want some sexy self-confidence.

I also have "little black books" (or any colour you want really) available additionally for gifting or keeping purposes.

Email me to secure your spot or check out the Facebook event page for more info! Also use it to invite your friends and make it a girls day.

Tie The Knot Ottawa

3/02/2014

Swag bags table
One week ago yesterday, I attended (and exhibited) and the best wedding show in existence. For it's inaugural year, Tie The Knot Ottawa blew everyone's minds. Since it's invention, it was designed to be "that different wedding show" meant for more urban in opposite from all of those "luxury" wedding shows.

It was the perfect size because there were enough vendors to choose from, but not too many of each. Other large shows can be compared to speed dating for brides, but with Tie The Knot, brides had a chance to have a small chat with any vendor they wanted.

Even within the same category, each vendor was not even comparable. They did the best job of not only selecting each vendor, but separating us within the room. It was such a different venue location which helped in making the show so unique.

Swag bags given to the first 200 attendees
I met so many awesome bride-to-be's and I am so honoured by the number of consultations I have to meet them again. I can't wait to jump on board and get fully emerged in the 2014 wedding scene.

Thank you so much to my amazing boyfriend who has helped and supported me every step of the way. I couldn't have done it without you. Thanks to everyone who has supported me and liked my work.

For brides that visited me at the show, don't forget about the $200 gift check enclosed in my brochure booklet :) Book your consultation and let me know you have it. Winner of the album to be announced soon!!

If you missed me at the show, check out my website at www.nicoleamanda.ca

My lovely booth with the most wonderful boyfriend ever.
I am already so anxious to get the paperwork to do the show again next year. If it was so great in it's first year, I can't even imagine what they can do in two. They are also pondering branching out to Kingston, Toronto and Montreal. I have complete faith in Earleen and Cheryl to blow my mind again next year. Thanks for making it so easy to book clients. This will be my breakout year, and you guys will play a huge part in it.

Check out what they're up to by visiting their website and giving them a like on Facebook or follow them on Twitter. If you missed the most amazing event ever, you'll be able to catch their next ones!

Editors Choice AwardSo today I got a really cool email about something I had no idea about! It was from Two Bright Lights, which is the website program I use to submit sessions and weddings for publication. Last year I tried really had to submit everything I photographed, and myself thought I was semi-successful.

Granted, receiving this email, they thought I was successful too! I am thrilled to announce that I have been selected as a winner of a 2014 Two Bright Lights Editors' Choice Award!

I'm honored to be part of this group of talented photographers and creative professionals. My features this past year have enabled me to increase exposure for my work, and I am thrilled to have been recognized for my endeavours.
The award is given in recognition of the those whose number of published features in 2013 placed them among the top 5% of all Two Bright Lights members. Winners were published across many of the most respected lifestyle, wedding and other print and digital publications in the United States and worldwide.
I have high hopes for the next few years in publication, obviously with exclusive blogs being the fancier blogs, such as the famous Style Me Pretty. In 2013, I had the privilege of being published in the following publications:
Stephanie & Michael's summer wedding have been seen on

Miranda & Jessica's trash the dress seen on

Anik & Chris' summer wedding seen on

Robie & Judy's summer wedding seen on

And Kaylen & Ryan's adorable engagement session seen on

I am also accepted to and awaiting publication of Natasha & Nick's prom to Party and Event Guide, as well as Shermica & Dwight's city hall wedding to Truly Engaging.

Check out Two Bright Lights for yourself and see where you can get your work published. I want to thank the lovely Laura Kelly Photography for introducing me to them :)

Thanks to all of the other creative professionals who made these features possible! Want your little claim to fame? Hire me to photograph your wedding ;) To see more of my work, or to get in touch about my services, please visit www.nicoleamanda.ca.

PASS Photo Sharing (& maybe some Jason Aldean)

2/11/2014

So PASS just came out with a gorgeous new update. And for those of you who don't know what PASS is - listen up. Yeah, there are a lot of shoot & share photographers out there now (those who give digital images) but now all of them use PASS.

This is how I host my online galleries that makes downloading your photos as easy as a single click. Unlike email or DropBox, it does not degrade your file, making it the same quality and resolution that I have. This means that you can take it anywhere to get it printed yourself.

But just hold on to your pants, you can order prints through your gallery too. Not just any prints, but I will guarantee you that these will be 200x the quality that you will get from any "amazing printer" you may have at home OR Walmart, Blacks, drugstores…etc. Yeah, they will give you decent looking photos, but they may not capture all of the colours that your digital files have, nor will they come close to the quality.

You can check out an example of how the beautiful online gallery looks by checking out Kaylen & Ryan's engagement session gallery. Or how about you go to it on your smart phone? Looks amazing there too. The best thing of all (which I can't really show you unless you become my client) is the stunning app that they have now developed for it. It's as easy as logging in with the same information and having all of the access to your photos on your phone! But this is how it looks. You can take a look at their promo video for it. Ugh, so in love <3 I can tell you most of the couples that I met at my bridal show were stunned too. Or maybe a much better written article from the PASS developers.

Download the PASS App here :D

Or….you can check out the photos of the amazingly fun time I had at the Tyler Farr, Florida-Georgia Line & Jason Aldean concert with the bestest boyfriend in the whole wide world (who bought me the tickets for Christmas). 2ND ROW!!! Enjoy!
